With a great passion for plants and years of experience in plant care, Professor Plantstein helps consumers navigate garden centers and easily make the right choice. Where available, Professor Plantstein provides clear plant information on the spot, so everyone can make a well-informed decision quickly and easily. With the Plantbeeb QR code, you also gain immediate access to detailed care tips, inspirational photos, and additional product information. Plantbeeb in the Garden Center: Strong Together for Consumers and Retailers
Professor Plantstein, with the Plantbeeb QR code on the plant label, helps not only consumers but also retailers. He answers frequently asked questions about the plant, such as: Is this plant easy to maintain? Does it prefer sun or shade? Is it frost-resistant? This is done visually with recognizable Specialists, such as Maintenance-Friendly Specialist, Sun-Resistant Specialist, or Evergreen Specialist. If desired, supporting POS materials can be used to help consumers in-store find the right plant. The same clear and recognizable style is applied in the Plantbeeb app and website. Here, all Specialists for each plant can be found, and consumers can access all plant information and care tips. In addition, there is a chat feature, where Professor Plantstein provides extra support and helps improve customer service and engagement.

Plantbeeb and the Grower: Strong Collaboration in the Chain
To further strengthen the platform and prepare for the future, Plantbeeb has entered a strategic partnership with Floramedia, market leader in plant labels and communication within the ornamental horticulture sector. By combining knowledge and networks, the quality, visibility, and reach of Plantbeeb are significantly increased. From 2026, Floramedia will introduce Plantbeeb to its customers. They can directly include the Plantbeeb QR code in the design and production of plant labels, pot covers, packaging, or stickers. The collaboration fits perfectly with the project “The Smart QR Code.” The Plantbeeb QR code will evolve into the GS1 standard, which will replace the traditional barcode in 2027. The first pilot will start in 2026. This new QR code offers benefits for the entire chain: from grower and retailer to consumer. The smart Plantbeeb QR code, for example, enables a unique connection between grower and consumer. The same QR code can not only be scanned by the consumer but also directly linked to point-of-sale systems at the retailer. Professor Plantstein continues to innovate and gladly collaborates with growers on future developments!
